My Scalp and Protective Styles

I have been suffering from dry scalp and I realize a couple factors could be contributing to this:  Dehydration and Cold weather.  Lately, I have been keeping my head covered to protect my hair from the cold temps.  Also, I realize that when I do not drink enough water, my scalp is the first to respond.  So, in order to keep my scalp in check I must drink my 8, 8oz glasses of water.  I must keep my hair protected and do hot oil treatments with olive oil or coconut oil.

This should keep me in good standing until the temps warm up.

It's been too long since I have blogged about my natural hair. I have been vlogging, just not blogging. I am excited because I can actually see the growth with my tresses. I never really know how long my hair is until I blow it out and then I can see it! It is so amazing how natural hair moves and changes with a little persuasion.

I am committed this year to learning about my hair type, what works best and then share what I have learned. I will do a length check this month and follow up after six months and then the year mark, Lord willing.

I am also planning to revamp my videos and make them more professional and enjoyable. This way, I hope to have loyal subscribers who really support me and believe in what I am sharing.

Be Blessed in 2012! Let's be committed to seeing it through. :)

I hope you enjoy my blog, pics and videos.

My natural hair and safflower oil

Hi Friends, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am so excited about the new year and my natural hair. I have been learning so much through trial and error and from other Naturals on youtube. I am so grateful for the network of ladies on there...They are very inspiring and creative. I am looking forward to more accessories and updos...just want to learn as much as possible. Also, I picked up the Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner. I honestly do not think it's for black hair. My hair is so hard afterwards and my daughter's is the same. But to not waste money I will use it until it's gone.

Also, I read an online article on http://atlanta.momslikeme.com about Safflower oil and belly fat. According to the article with taking two teaspoons a day, your belly fat will be reduced without changing your diet or exercise. I am on day 3 and it appears that there has been some shrinkage in my mid-section. I will post results too.

Be blessed!

I have a lot on my mind today. I twisted my hair and it turned out ok...this is a pic from the top. I can't figure out if my hair is growing are falling out in patches. It's so weird. I am considering going to a natural hair salon for them to give me a consultation. I am praying for "good hair". I enjoy washing it, conditioning it and twisting it...so far so good. But now I am noticing breakage and I am not sure where it's coming from.

Hair Journey

Spiral Curl

My up do

I honestly didn't know I could do a nice up do with natural hair. Here's a pic of my hair pulled back into a bun. I love it. I have been experimenting with new styles pretty regularly. I hope you are trying some as well. You just never know until you try.
